Spinning your wheels

Lately I’ve been making sure to get all of my workouts in every week.  I’m down a couple lbs and I’m feeling fantastic!  My new love/hate is spinning.  I’ve discovered this amazing place in Bellevue:  Flywheel Fitness.  For those of you familiar with Soul Cycle, it is apparently similar (I’ve never been to Soul Cycle, for the record.)

You register online, reserve your classes and when you get to the studio they have lockers, towels and shoes.  I was a bit weirded out by wearing random shoes but I’m sort of over it.  It is very clean and organized, the instructors are amazing, you rock out to cool tunes and the best part is that the workouts are only 45 minutes!  That means you can get in and out in about an hour.  Where else can you do that?

I come home a dripping smelly mess and need to get in the shower immediately.  Which of course, I don’t do 😉  I kid.

You can also track all of your workouts online, they give you your “power” ranking, approximate the calories you burn and rate your work outs.  I’m a super nerd and I love being able to look up how hard I worked out and rank it against my other workouts.  It makes me work harder when I’m in class and I know I’m behind previous workouts.

In other news, I’m plugging away at the GMAT….. And job searching….. And dog training….

Perhaps I’ll start taking some pictures?!?!

XOXO,

Welcome to our world, Ninabelle

The hubs and I have been discussing getting a second dog for quite some time.  When we lived at our old house I was working way too much to get a puppy and we only had a tiny, paved outdoor space for our labrador.  At that point we really didn’t feel like getting a second dog was an option.  When we moved in May we again brought up the subject.  Beau is a very happy dog and we didn’t want him to feel upset so we put it off.

As you all know, I’ve been home, not “working” in the traditional sense, since March.  I kind of decided that it was now or never to get a puppy.  I actually have the time to take care of one and the energy to do it.  Not only do I have the time, we actually have the space.  Soooo…… it was a matter of what kind of puppy to get.  Lincoln wasn’t sure what he wanted (or he wasn’t 100% sure about getting a second dog) and we discussed a variety of different breeds.  I had a German Shepherd growing up and I love their personalities and how they are such great family dogs.  Somehow, I convinced Lincoln to drive down to Roy, Washington to look at puppies.  I took a cab to the train, took a one hour train ride to Tacoma, then we drove another 45 minutes.  We looked at several puppies.  Lincoln was kind of worried about how big they would get so we left empty handed.  However, we had met a 5.5 week old female pup that wasn’t ready to leave just yet.  I kind of fell in love with her and managed to convince Lincoln that we would all love this puppy, even Beau.  You know what they say, the rest is history.  Two weeks later we drove back to Roy and picked up our little Ninabelle.  She is already MUCH bigger than these pictures, but this was the day we met her.  I’m obsessed.  And, like any mother, I think she is the BEST puppy ever.  Even Beau likes her 😉
